The Falcons were in the game until the last play of the game Friday night. Michael Thalacker led the Falcon rushing attack with 15 rushes for 92 yards and a TD. Bobby Knapp had the other rushing touchdown for the Falcons. He had 9 carries for 57 yards on the night.
The Falcons started the game off right with a recovery on the opening kickoff. Senior Thomas Martinez kicked the ball off a defender and Armando Gurolla recovered. The falcon offense stalled out on the 45 yard line and had to punt. The Falcon defense held the Spartans to 240 yards total offense Friday night. 119 yards on the ground (with one play of 53 yards) and 121 passing yards. Ben Kearns also got the first interception of the year for the Falcons. The Falcons also had 5 tackles for loss and 4 pass break ups.
The Falcons attempted an onside kick to start the game(unsuccessful). Only being down 7-0 after the first quarter there were some positives to take from the game. Bobby Knapp turned in a good defensive performance with 9 tackles and Senior Jackson Stanich wasn't far behind with 8 tackles.
Skyline did not have a good night Friday. Lost their 3rd in a row to a strong 4A Longmont Trojan team. The Falcons will be looking to get back on track after a needed bye week.
