About Me

I am Izabella Martinez 2021 catcher. I'm 5'4 and weigh 140 lbs. I go to Santiago school in Santa Ana Ca. I'm in the 8th grade and I'm a great student with a 3.8 GPA. I'm currently playing with FIRECRACKERS Brashear/Oakes. Our head coach is Robert Oakes. We are an amazing team with a strong team bond. I am a strong catcher with great knowledge for the game. I am a leader behind the plate with quick pop time. I know how to calm my pitchers down in situations and I'm able to call plays according to the teams defensive plan. I workout at the Softball Connection warehouse under the watchful eye of Tony Ricco. I take catching lessons from Melissa Roth ( former USSSA Pride catcher and graduate from The University of Louisville). I take hitting lessons from Nacho Martinez. I bat left. We work on staying balanced, driving the ball to the opposite field, and working the count to your advantage. We also work on the mental part of hitting and knowing how the pitcher is working you. I enjoy photography and spending time with my family and friends when I am not playing softball.
