Water Polo — Goalie

About Me

Varsity goalie at Murrieta Mesa High School. This is now my third year playing and my second year as Varsity Goalie. My work ethic, leadership, determination and drive landed me a top spot on our school’s water polo team. My life goals are to continue to play water polo my junior and senior year in high school and potentially play for a college in Southern California as I also serve our community as a fire fighter. Personal accomplishments I have successfully completed are Marine Corps Devil Pups Boot Camp, Fire Fighters Explorer Academy for Murrieta Fire Department, CPR & AED certified in both Red Cross and American Heart Association. I returned to Marine Corps Devil Pups Boot Camp as an assistant to help train the new recruits and assisted in training the new recruits for Murrieta Fire Department’s Explorer Academy both in summer 2019. I was also in NJROTC my Freshman and Sophomore year but had to step down my junior year to open a spot in my schedule for athletic physical education so I can focus on water polo and swim. I am the 2017-2018 JV Swim Pride Award recipient and the 2018-2019 Varsity Water Polo Pride Award recipient. Off season I train with Elite Water Polo in Murrieta California and will continue to train with Elite through swim team season until our high school season begins training again. Growing up since age 3, I was a baseball player. My last season of baseball was Freshman year, then I had to hang up my hat because I just wasn’t a top player to continue onto the JV team with the couple of spots they had openings for. That was when I made the decision to join Water Polo starting my sophomore year and I had never swam except basic swim lessons. I believe my endurance, heart and willingness to learn helped me go from learning how to egg beat in pre season club with Elite before the JV season started my sophomore year to becoming the only Varsity goalie the very next season. I love this sport and wish I would have made the change sooner but I will continue to push myself and with my senior year season just starting I cannot wait to see what we can do as a team and exceed our goals as a program.

Certificate of Graduation Honor Platoon (Jul 29, 2017)

I earned the Certificate of Graduation Honor Platoon on July 29, 2017. The Honor Platoon consists of the top cadets that proved to be in the top spots as the most disciplined physically and mentally. You have to apply and take a physical fitness test in order to get into the program and can only go one time in your life from ages 15-17. Once there we had to prove ourselves and it was the most physically and mentally demanding experience of my life at age 15. Graduating from this program was very emotional for me because I carried so much pride for what I accomplished. As a son of a Marine who was deployed during this time, it was such an honor to be accepted into the program to be a part of Devil Pups.
