For the second time in less than a month, the JSerra Boys Volleyball team dropped a tough five-set battle to the Servite Friars on Wednesday in the Trinity League finale at JSerra Catholic High School. The Lions are now 16-10 on the season and finish league play in fourth place with a 4-6 record. After the Friars took the opening set 25-17, JSerra surged to wins in both the second set (25-23) and the third set (25-22) to take a 2-1 lead. However, Servite battled back to win the fourth set 25-23. The teams were tied early in the fifth and the deciding set before the Friars scored five of the final eight points to claim the 15-11 set triumph and match victory. The Lions’ final home match of the regular season was also a Senior Night celebration, as seniors Trent Taliaferro, Alejandro Gutierrez, and Cormac Olsem were honored before the match.
