The JSerra Boys Volleyball team fell just short of an epic comeback attempt, as the Lions fell in five sets to the visiting Santa Margarita Eagles in a Trinity League encounter Wednesday night at JSerra Catholic High School. JSerra is now 13-6 overall and 1-2 in league. Santa Margarita took the first set 25-23 then outfought a determined effort from the Lions to win the second set 31-29 to seize a commanding 2-0 advantage. But the Lions answered back. JSerra held off the Eagles in a back-and-forth third set 29-27 and then controlled the action in the fourth set, winning 25-17, to set up a fifth and deciding final set. Each team had multiple match point opportunities in a back and forth set before Santa Margarita closed out the win 18-16.
