The JSerra Softball team concluded a busy day on the diamond on Thursday at the SoCal Finest Tournament with a split of their two games at Big League Dreams in Chino Hills.
The Lions (2-5) dropped the opener to Norco 5-3, as the Cougars used a four-run rally in the third inning to propel them to the victory.
Freshman Angie Jimenez supplied the Lions’ big hit of the game, blasting a two-run homerun to center field in the second inning.
Juniors Brooke Stephens and Alyssa Grajeda went 1-for-3 for JSerra.
The Lions’ offense broke loose in the night cap, as JSerra pounded Great Oak 14-3.
Senior Mia Kreuger, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI's in the game, got the Lions off to strong start with a two-run home run to center in the first inning.
Sophomore Zena Edwards also went 2-for-3 with a solo home run to right field.
Freshman Brooklyn Lamb went 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.
Stephens went 1-for-3 with an RBI single and scored four times.
Senior Eva Hurtado struck out eight in 5.2 innings.
