A season of strong achievement for the JSerra Girls Beach Volleyball team came to an end on Saturday, as the Lions were edged by Redondo Union 3-2 in a CIF-SS Division 1 semifinals match at Long Beach City College in Long Beach.
The Lions, who had won their previous 14 matches by shutout, finished the season with a 14-2 overall record.
Mira Costa, the only other team to beat the Lions this season, defeated Redondo Union 3-2 to win the CIF-SS Division 1 title.
