The JV Lions began their Garden Grove Tournament quest at home this past week against the El Toro Chargers with a 5-1 victory and extended their streak of error-free innings to twenty-one. Brodie Purcell and Ben Reimers toed the mound for the Lions, scattering eight hits and striking out ten Chargers. The top of the Lions line-up did an excellent job of table-setting for their cleanup hitter, Shaun McCaghren, who singled, homered, and had 5 RBI on the night. Brandon Chang and Ryan Edwards also managed multi-hit games for the team. Next up, the JV Lions will test their bullpen depth as they play four tournament games in six days against Cypress, San Clemente, Aliso Niguel, and Beckman.
