The JSerra Softball team picked up their first victory of the season on Wednesday evening, as the Lions blanked the Yucaipa Thunderbirds 5-0 in their first game of the SoCal’s Finest Tournament at Chino Hills High.
Senior Eva Hurtado was in fine form in the circle for the Lions (1-4), pitching a complete game two-hitter while striking out 12.
Freshman Brooklyn Lamb served as the offensive catalyst for the Lions, as she went 3-for-4 with a double and two singles, while driving in two runs.
Junior Alyssa Grajeda went 2-for-4 with a double, while scoring twice and driving in a run.
Sophomore Zena Edwards also supplied a big two-run double as part of a three-run fourth inning rally.
