MLK Weekend Meet Recap 🐾 Check the album titled MLK weekend for videos and pics and if I left any out please add them! Ok… We kicked things off at the Grant All-Comers Meet where the Wildcats delivered a strong opening weekend. Personal bests were recorded by Elyse S., Ryan B., Kellen L-F, Alex M., Austin N., and Ronin U., along with multiple first place finishes across events. A special shoutout goes to Sarah Nef, our 6th grade Wildcat Cub, who competed in her first meet ever and earned two top five finishes in the 60m dash and 200m dash. A huge moment and an exciting start to her journey. At Pittsburg, Hudson Smith (2027) officially put the state on notice. He solidified himself as one of California’s top jumpers with two personal bests, 46’11” in the triple jump and 23’6” in the long jump. Those performances secured his spot at the California Winter Championships later this month in Arcadia, California. Up north in Reno, the Wildcats continued to shine. Andy J-R swept the 15 to 16 year old boys 400m and 200m dash with times of 51.99 and 23.24, both personal bests. Ava T., competing in the 13 to 14 age group, had a phenomenal day across the hurdles and 800m, and capped it off with a personal best of 1:01.92 in the 400m dash. Logan Alexander put together a solid showing in the high hurdles, while Kayla Gold had a great meet with a 59.75 in the 400m dash and a third place finish in the 200m dash. Also in Reno, Gabi MacDonald cleared a personal best of 8’2” at the Pole Vault Summit. A phenomenal weekend overall. The hard work is paying off, momentum is building, and the most exciting part is that we are just getting started. The sky is the limit for these athletes. Claws up. 🐾
