Instructions

RULES FOR ATHLETES Athletes will remove their mask moments before the race begins and will put their mask on after finishing. We will have mask available for anyone who loses their mask during their race. The timing equipment that will be used will allow the athletes to not need to stop and stand near each other upon finishing. Athletes and spectators from the first dual meet will be asked to leave the starting line/finish area upon the conclusion of their races so that the next dual meet teams may use the area. Team tents will be as far away from the starting line area as possible. We will use a PA system to make any relevant announcements. RULES FOR ATHLETES & SPECTATORS AT AYALA HIGH SCHOOL Early race Athletes and coaches may enter the stadium by 7am wearing mask and social distancing. Coaches will follow their Covid-19 district protocols for checking their athletes in. Parents may enter stadium by 7:45am and must wear a mask and social distance the entire time they are on campus. Failure to comply will result in them being asked to leave campus. Race – starting line is on the turf infield and teams will be asked to social distance away from each other. Athletes will wear their mask on the starting line and after final instructions are given, they will be given the option to remove their mask. This will be done within moments of the gun starting the race is fired. Athletes will put their mask on immediately after finishing the race. If they lost their mask on the course, coaches will be at the finish line to hand out new ones to them. 8am – girls race 8:20-8:30am – all girl athletes will cool down and stretch using grass field behind the track. (this is not part of the course and will allow them to social distance away from the boys who will be on the course). 8:30am – boys race 9am – Parents will be asked to leave the stadium area and go to their cars to wait for their athlete (if they drove them to the meet) or follow their districts policies. Girl parents will begin leaving immediately after their race has completed so there shouldn’t be as many parents left in the stadium. Coaches will be responsible for clearing out the stadium before the next group can enter. 8:45-9am – boy athletes will cool down and stretch using grass field behind the track. (this is not part of the course and will allow them to social distance away from the next meet which will be using the course for their warmup).
