Clifton, NJ — Clifton Mustangs Varsity pulled off a walk-off in the bottom of the 7th inning on Wednesday, beating Passaic 1-0 on a fly ball to right field by Vinny Civitella which scored Clifton's only run of the day. Passaic's pitcher, Maldonado finally gave up a hit to Dane Mocera at the start of the bottom of the 7th inning. Jayden Severino's sac bunt pushed Mocera to second base. Josh Miller drew an intentional walk followed by Justin Rivera after Mocera stole third on a passed ball to load the bases with one out. Civitella hit a fly ball to right field to score Mocera on a tag-up home. Mocera had the only hit of the game for Clifton. Clifton was hitting the ball, but all were fielded for outs. Kyle Rogers pitched the full game for Clifton striking out 11, walking none and giving up four hits. The win improves the Mustangs record to 9-2 in regular season.
