Gaylord, MI — 20 year remembrance parade and ceremony for 9/11 in downtown Gaylord today was humbling. Our athletes who attended listened to 4 minutes of recordings during the ceremony of families leaving messages for one another saying goodbye before their planes crashed or before the towers collapsed. We heard First responders communicating of the travesty that was happening. It’s excruciating to hear. These young ladies carried American flags on 10ft poles with pride today and paid tribute to all those lost and their families from the 9/11 attacks. ❤️Bless the families of those lost during that horrific day. ❤️Bless the first responders who laid down their lives to save others. ❤️Bless the innocent men, women and children lost. ❤️Bless our brave military men and women for enlisting and going to war shortly after the attacks. During the September 11 attacks in 2001, 2,977 people were killed, 19 hijackers committed murder–suicide, and more than 6,000 others were injured. The immediate deaths included 265 on the four planes (including the terrorists), 2,606 in the World Trade Center and in the surrounding area, and 125 at the Pentagon. The attacks remain the deadliest terrorist act in world history.
