Otsego, MI — The second race, in a three race series, took place on extremely good conditions at Bittersweet Thursday night and the Scots took advantage of it and lowered its score, as compared to the first race a week before. The boy’s team dropped 5 points from its first race to tie GR Christian with 30 points and the girls team improved their score by dropping 6 point to score just 54 points. Two Scots let the way for the boys division. Aidan Brown took 1st and James Diegel took 2nd to pace the Scots. Also scoring for the boys team were Derick Pritchard (6th place), Cohen Bloom (9th place) and Junior Harper (12th place). Lynzi Wolbrink, took 3rd to lead the girl’s team. Following her was a trio of seventh graders—Madi Reynolds (9th), Katie Honhart (12th) and Kate Trusevich (14th). Rounding out the scorers was Kalyn Coleman who placed 16th. The middle school’s final race is Saturday at Cannonsburg Ski Area. The race will feature two courses, one on the quad and a second on the FACE. Each skier will take two runs on each course and their best time from each course will be added together. After the final race, the top ten skiers determined by their best two placements at our three conference races. For example, if a skier place 4th, 9th, and 20th at our races, they would have a score of 13 points and the lowest 10 skiers for the boys and girls will receive a medal. If a skier only did two races their score will be based on those two races and skiers that only participate in one race are not eligible for a medal.
