Mancelona, MI — "Sometimes improvement doesn't show up in the final score and today was one of those days. My girls confidence went up and their skiing showed signs of growth---all of girls finished all of their runs on one of the steepest slopes in Michigan which is a feat that doesn't always happen at this race." Coach Petrosky "The first step in improving as a team is believing in yourself and these girls are doing just that. I heard them all say that they were ready for the 550 feet of vertical on the FACE and after their runs they said that it was fun, which is going to help when we head back to the 250 ft vertical of Timber Ridge on Monday for our next conference race. When I took over the program 8 years ago, the first thing that we did was add as much big hill up north racing to our schedule as possible, so our skiers would gain skiing experiences that can only be had on steep complicated slopes." Mya Baldwin led the way in slalom with a 9th place finish while Kyleigh Thompson place 18th, Liz Hilton place 35th and Jessica Maier place 37th. In GS Kyleigh Thompson placed 20th, Liz Hilton placed 32, Erin Peckham placed 37th and Adia Whisler rounded out the scoring with a 43rd place finish. The Scots next race is Wednesday at Timber Ridge.
