Thompsonville, MI — Tuesday was wet and warm at Crystal Mountain and the Scots hot skiing propelled them to their best finish in a LMSC race to date, the Scots took 2nd place behind Onekama. "Conditions were tough tonight, heavy wet snow that allowed big ruts to form and piles to surround the course but our guys came out and skied very well. The Caledonia Clump allowed our guys to move ahead of Benzie and Glen Lake tonight in a condition shortened race (one run of GS and one run of SL). We have struggled getting all of our top skiers to finish this season but tonight they did and their consistent skiing really helped put a little separation between the teams. In GS we scored 8, 9, 10, and 11 but the rest of our varsity placed 15, 16, 17, and 19 and our skiing pushed back the skiers on the other teams." Coach Petrosky. "We scored the same way in slalom which helped us take second place at tonight's meet." Leading the way were Brayden Smith (8th GS, 9th SL), DJ Potgeter (7th Sl and 10th GS), Aidan Brown (10th Sl and 11th GS), Cohen Broomfield (9th GS) and Ben Diegel (14th Sl). The Scots varsity will head back up to Crystal Mountain on Wednesday for another conference race. The JV will not be racing due to the poor snow conditions at Wednesday's race. Caledonia's JV boys make one run of GS and were lead by James Pritchard (2nd), Gavin Dean (3rd), Luke Smith (4th), and James Harper(5th)
