Riverside, CA — Boy's Frosh/Soph had a strong showing with 10 runners, 9 who ran their first cross country race! All 10 runners had outstanding performances. The Frosh/Soph were lead by Nathaniel Valenzuela (SO) who finished 28th overall and finished with a time of 13:07.9, leading the team to a 13th place finish. Girl's Frosh/Soph had 2 individuals race their first cross country race. Rubie Amaro (SO) lead the two girls, finishing with a time of 17:03.9 and placing 42nd overall. Asmaa Aldein (SO) was close behind finishing with a time of 17:34 and placing 54th overall. Boy's Varsity saw 2 Personal Bests within the squad. Boy's Varsity was lead by Zachary Gomez (SO) who placed 8th overall with a time of 11:23.3. Zachary had a 54 second improvement from last year's time of 12:18. Junior, Emiliano Zavala, placed 3rd within the squad with a time of 12:34.0. Emiliano had a 21 second improvement from last year's time of 12:56. The Boy's Varsity team finished 14th. Girl's Varsity had an amazing performance with Esther Fee (JR) taking the win with a time of 13:33.3. Esther had an 8 second improvement from last year's time of 13:41. With a team gap time of 1:55, the girl's to a team finish of 3rd place, making podium. Girl's Junior Varsity was lead by Victoria Buitrago (JR) who finished 40th overall with a time of 20:04.4. The Girl's JV was just shy of making a team with only 4 runners. To finish off the day, Boy's Junior Varsity had 4 athletes. Chris Sanchez (SR) led the Boy's JV placing 86th overall with a time of 15:10. The next race is on Saturday, September 7 at the Pat Hadley Memorial Invitational in Placentia.
