Dear Family –

We hope this finds all of you and your extended families both safe and healthy. As you are aware, we are living in a time of uncertainty, while each of us tries to anticipate how the next few weeks and months will unfold. During this time, there are a number of things that are unknown to many of us. One thing we do know is that player and community safety is, and always will be, a primary focus for the South County Trojans.

Over the past few weeks we have been closely monitoring the events surrounding Covid-19, while engaging in conversations with state health officials, district officials, and league officials. We’ve also been listening to feedback from both high school and collegiate coaches, and have considered the CDC guidelines. We’ve exhausted as many resources as were available to us in order to ensure any decision we arrived at was in the best interest of our families.

Based on the information we have ascertained we strongly believe the obvious and responsible decision at this time is to cancel the upcoming 2020 Tackle football season. With safety as the primary focus, we do not believe that is prudent to move forward with hosting a tackle program this fall. With that said, we do look forward with great anticipation to seeing both tackle and cheer returning to South County Trojans in 2021.

Please stay tuned and connected as we will still be looking at alternative means to keep our athletes active during the fall and winter months. We appreciate your patience and understanding, as we believe it is better to lose a season, than to lose a life.

Stay safe, and remember to Fight on!!!
