RTP Status Update 6/8/2020
Dear PVSC Families,
We thank you for your feedback on our Return to Play (RTP) survey. It was clear that a majority (99%) of our families are ready and willing to return to the fields with the necessary safety precautions.
We want to be clear that we support YOUR CHOICE whether or not you RTP at this time.
We know there is a lot of information floating around and we wanted to highlight a few things that we are working on. We have formed a strong RTP committee consisting of parents, coaches and Board members. We have been reviewing Protocols, Policies and Procedures provided to us from other Youth Sports Associations, Cal South, CDC, CDPH, as well as the City of Poway.
While we understand that some youth sports and other local soccer clubs are starting up under the umbrella of “Day Camps”, we cannot operate under this classification. We are still waiting for the permits needed to get back on the fields. This approval comes from the City of Poway and PUSD. The City has shared with us that they will not open fields for use until the County provides official approval for “Youth Sports” to return to play. We are hopeful that the specific verbiage for youth sports will be added to the County ordinance in the next week or so. In the meantime, PVSC is being diligent in their efforts to adhere to all safety measures and create protocols that work best for our staff and families.
There are many steps that need to be met BEFORE we can allow our players back on the fields. Each family will have to electronically sign multiple documents in their CalSouth account when they become available. We must also train our Coaches and RTP Committee Volunteers to follow the PVSC RTP Protocols and Procedures. Stay tuned for more communication from PVSC regarding updates and our requirements.
On another note, as we approach game play, we would like to remind our families to order their uniforms from Soccerloco as soon as possible in order to avoid shipping delays.
