Baltimore, MD — Sunday morning began with a call to us about a cancelation by another team scheduled to play before us. We were already planning on getting to the field early and we agreed to fill the vacant slot and play a team we had already beat earlier in the season. This meant we would be playing back to back games this day, after the late game the day before, this would be a long day for the boys. Facing a familiar foe which we had beat before made the idea of playing back to back games not as bad. We didn't want to take the team lightly but we were confident we could beat them once again. The boys of course were tired and dragging. Once the bus arrived to the filed, the boys woke up, music playing as they got in to their game mod and focus kicked in. The game started out slowly as both teams struggled to move the ball. Both teams had promising drives deep into the opponents territory but both defenses made key stops and kept each other out of the end zone. A defensive battle all 1st half as neither team reached the end zone. We had an opportunity to score just before half but the receiver was tackled just short of the end zone as the half came to an end tied 0-0. Second half began and went pretty much the same as both teams moved the ball some and both defenses continued to make stops. We finally reached the end zone late in the third quarter on an outstanding pass and run after the catch putting us up 6-0 after a blocked extra point attempt. The rest of the game was a defensive battle back and forth. When the final whistle blew, we were looking at another shut out victory. The second shut out in as many games. This game took a little steam out of he boys, they were tired, a few hurting but nothing too serious. It was time to get out of equipment and sit down and rest up for the next game. A game against a very good team that has been resting since the day before. It was gonna take everyone playing they A game to beat the next opponent.
