Burnt Hills, NY — The Spartans watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 12-0 loss to Christian Brothers Academy on Monday. The Spartans struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing CBA, giving up 12 runs. CBA got things started in the first inning when Kostanoski singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. Waite led things off on the pitcher's mound for Christian Brothers Academy. The ace went seven innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out 13 and walking one. Max Hladun was on the pitcher's mound for the Spartans. The righty lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing four hits and seven runs while striking out one. Maddie Tse, Dom Morey, and Tristan Torres each contributed in relief for the Spartans. CBA had 16 hits in the game. Kostanoski, Cuthbert, Carrothers, Osburne, Waite, and Raucci all collected multiple hits. Raucci led CBA with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.
