Ft. Myers, FL — The GB fans that trekked South were treated to a clash of two of the State of Michigan's best power arms in GB's own David Lally (Notre Dame) and Garber's Tommy Szczepanski (Michigan). Neither disappointed with numerous scouts on hand to watch the unofficial early Spring showcase. Both went 3-innings and handed the ball off to their teammates in a 0-0 tie. Nate Helms (Northwood) threw the next 2-innings of hit-less baseball before Braxton McVicar (Albion) and Gabe Morrow closed things down as GB broke the game open late in the 6-1 final. Offensively, the Bobcats collected 8 hits with Helms and Travis Parsons leading the way with 2 hits apiece. Jack Goldie (Hope-football) drove in 2 with a 2-out double in the 7th. GB will wrap up their Spring Training tomorrow with a final unofficial scrimmage vs Okemos.
