Santa Ana, CA — Improvement over 0-18 drubbing last year, but still fairly lopsided. We had to forfeit 3 sets due to missing players, so we started out 0-3. 3 of our 5 wins came in the 3rd round, vs “subs”, but wins none-the-less. Lucas Johnson won 6-0 and Sam Gou won 6-1 in the 3rd round. Good efforts today vs starters and subs. MVP honors went out to the Lions who beat Foothill “starters”. MVP’s Max Chiotis and Nicholas Barrios beat their top doubles team 6-2 in the opening round, and then won a 2nd set in round 3. They were the only players to win 2 sets! MVP Mikey Junge was the only Lion to beat their #3 singles player, 6-0, after a close 4-6 match vs their #2 guy. Thank you Sam Asadi for filling in today and teaming with Jordan Gessin; our two lefties gave a good effort at #2 doubles. Next up: Tuesday, March 8th vs Segerstrom at JSerra, 3pm.
