Canfield, OH — The Boardman Freshmen Baseball team returned to the diamond for the first time in over a week and took home their second straight victory with a 9-5 win over Canfield. The boys used a five run fifth inning, aggressive baserunning and a great relief outing from Landon Whippo to lead the way. Whippo pitched 6 innings in relief giving up only two runs while striking out four. Offensively the Spartans were led by Ivan Rudiak who wen 2-4 with, 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and 2 runs. Grayson Eicher had a 3-3 day with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Tommy Varley added a double, three walks, and two runs. Aaron Glista and Whippo each added a hit as well. The team also had seven stolen bases to keep the pressure on the Cardinals all evening.
