North Bend, WA — Baden Black Sox were put to the test in patience, and flexibility Thursday night. The game scheduled in North Bend, WA a good 50 minute drive from Baden's home field was moved without telling the team to Auburn Mountainview another 30 minutes away. The team high tailed it to the new field to find a power hungry umpire waiting for them. The Napoleonic umpire required the Baden Black Sox to begin the game without proper warmups. Coach O'C sticking up for his players, and young arms was asked to leave the field. This must have fired up the Black Sox as they scored 6 runs in the top of the 1st inning. There was plenty of action on the base paths as Baden collected 10 hits and the Wildcats with 5 during the contest. Jack Kelly took the win for Baden on the mound. Kelly went two and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out one. Marx, Eaton, and Lowe all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Keane was able to get a fist bump out of the field umpire after multiple attempts. This led to many uninteresting stories through the remainder of the game. Meyers took the loss for the Wildcats. Meyers went five innings, allowing 11 runs on eight hits and striking out three. Baden's 10 hits were tallied by multiple hits by Story, Sneed, and Abaga. An interesting, long night, with Baden claiming a 14-9 victory in the end.
