Santa Ana, CA — The JV programs of Foothill HS and Orange HS met for a scrimmage on the Knights' home field Thursday afternoon. Friends and family were treated to some great soccer and beautiful sunset vistas. Foothill walked away from the competition with a 4-0 result and a bright outlook on the upcoming season. Foothill was dominant from the onset, controlling the majority of possession and having the lion's share of attacking opportunities. Coaches Luther and Reuschenberg were blessed with strong performances across the board, from defense to offense. The Knights were held to only 4 goals primarily due to the impressive goalkeeping efforts of the Orange keeper. Junior Juan Rodríguez started off the scoring with an impressive bicycle kick off a corner. Sophmore Devin Orozco scored the second and Rodríguez added another. Sophmore Quinn Frye put a dangerous ball in that resulted in an own goal to call it the scoring. Junior goalkeeper Kylan Rivas was rarely called upon but was steadfast when needed. The center midfield trio of Sophmore Jacob Lantzer, Freshman Lincoln Luther, and Frye were dominant throughout the contest. Impressive performance by the boys and it appears that their hard work in training is paying off
