Parlin, NJ — Bombers stole the lead late in the game in a 7-4 victory over Edison Eagles on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with Bombers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Thomas Schlaline singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Edison Eagles fired up the offense in the first inning, when Jordan Martins homered on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs. James Kehoe took the win for Bombers. The righty lasted five innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out six. Aayush Mehta threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Mehta recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Bombers. Jaxon Appleman led things off on the mound for Edison Eagles. The pitcher allowed four hits and five runs over four innings, striking out eight. Dom Innocenti threw two innings in relief. Edison Eagles hit two home runs on the day. Martins had a dinger in the first inning. Charlie Taub had a four bagger in the sixth inning. Mehta went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Bombers in hits. Bombers was sure handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Michael Robinson had the most chances in the field with eight. Edison Eagles racked up seven hits on the day. Martins and Taub each had multiple hits for Edison Eagles.
