Nampa, ID — Dylan Gonzalez shut down Mtn. View, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Skyview Varsity to a 3-0 victory on Thursday. Gonzalez struck out six, while surrendering no runs on four hits over seven innings. The Hawks collected six hits for the day. Caden Tucker and Grady Daniels each had two hits with Daniels’ hitting two doubles. The Hawks defense didn’t commit a single error in the field. The defensive play of the game came on a hard hit grounder between third base and shortstop. The ball made it past the glove of third baseman Caden Yesford but, the quickness of Skyview’s shortstop Vinny Caringella was able to scoop it up and make a jumping 150 foot throw to first baseman Grady Daniels, who had to make a great stretching catch for the out. The Hawks baseball teams will play again tomorrow against Timberline High School at Skyview.
