Cranford, NJ — This was a rematch of last season’s Union County Tournament final, which was also won by Cranford. Matt Chapman allowed two earned runs on five hits with nine strikeouts and one walk. Dennis McCaffery went 2-for-4 with three RBI for Cranford in its 7-5 win over Dayton in Cranford.Cranford scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning, but Dayton got two back in the top of the second. Cranford extended its lead to 7-2 after five innings and the Dayton comeback fell a couple of runs short.
