Littleton, CO — Another heartbreaking defeat, as we played our hearts out, but ran out of gas in the 3rd overtime. We had every opportunity to put this away in regulation, but we just don't have the killer instinct yet. Hat's off to Coach Allmon, as his Bulldogs have greatly improved. They showed all those lucky to attend - why one should never quit and never give up. I think sometimes we forget there is another team out there and they had a few pretty good players that have obviously bought in to what they're being taught.. I'm proud of the way our core guys fought. Our effort was there, given a mindset of what we think we are today. I know our guys are pushing themselves harder than they have ever had to push before. But, its going to take even more. It's going to require an open heart to learn more than traditional X's and O's of the actual game. The "ordinary" is not going to get it done. We have to push ourselves past that. Past our comfort zones! When we stretch ourselves past our comfort zone, this is where true inner growth occurs. Effort is only part of what each player has direct control over. Its also about ATTITUDE - "Attitude & Effort". It takes both. We've got to fix our attitude, which includes demanding more of ourselves, believing in ourselves, breaking habits from the past and just carrying ourselves better. The game of football requires more mental and emotional toughness than it even requires physical toughness. We can't be content. We're not there yet.. But, we are getting better every day. I hope you all saw that we improved greatly from last week. Obviously, we're not all there yet, and that includes us as coaches. But if it was easy, everyone would do it...
