Irvine, CA — Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 14-4 loss to Beckman on Saturday. Beckman scored on a single by Alec Gomez in the first inning, a error in the first inning, and a sacrifice fly by Gomez in the second inning. The Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Beckman, giving up 14 runs. Beckman got things moving in the first inning, when Gomez singled on a 3-0 count, scoring one run. Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity put up three runs in the fourth inning. Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity offense in the inning was led by Eric Silva, Michael Kerner, and Nolan Smith, all driving in runs in the frame. Beckman scored five runs in the fourth inning. Beckman batters contributing to the big inning included Connor McGuire, Justin Graves, Nick McLain, and Mylan Jones, who each had RBIs in the inning. Jared Platero got the start for Beckman.
