Irvine, CA — Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 6-1 loss to Beckman on Saturday. Beckman scored on a sacrifice fly by Collin Villegas in the first inning, a single by Mylan Jones in the second inning, and a sacrifice fly by Sean McLain in the second inning. Beckman opened up scoring in the first inning, when Villegas's sac fly scored one run for Beckman. Beckman scored three runs in the sixth inning. Matt McLain and McLain each had RBIs in the big inning. Justin Goldstein led things off on the hill for Beckman. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out three and walking one. Jack Loechner got the start for Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity. He allowed three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out one. Cutter Clawson and Joe Sweet entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively. Clawson led Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity with two hits in four at bats. Beckman was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Villegas had the most chances in the field with ten.
