Cass City, MI — Cass City Red Hawks Varsity could not keep pace with Reese Varsity Rockets 7-2 on Wednesday at Cass City Jr/Sr High School. Reese Varsity Rockets got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Carson Soper grounded out, and Cam Benson scored after tagging up, each scoring one run. Reese Varsity Rockets added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning when Benson doubled, scoring two runs, and a wild Pitch scored one run. Reese Varsity Rockets added one run in the third after Brady Ellison scored after tagging up. Luke Foco earned the win for Reese Varsity Rockets. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking one. Matt Mellendorf took the loss for Cass City Red Hawks Varsity.
