Irvine, CA — Four runs batted in from Grady Morgan helped lead Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity past Crean Lutheran 14-3 on Friday. Morgan drove in runs on a grand slam in the first. Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the first inning. Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity big bats were led by Cutter Clawson, Sawyer Chesley, Jack Loechner, Michael Kerner, and Morgan, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when Clawson drew a walk, scoring one run. Blake Burzell got the win for Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity. He went four innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out four and walking one. Justin Holm and Eric Silva entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Loechner, Morgan, Chesley, and Kolton Freeman all collected multiple hits for Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity. Loechner went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Laguna Beach Breakers Varsity in hits. Crean Lutheran didn't commit a single error in the field. Beckley had the most chances in the field with seven.
