Carbondale, PA — Holy Redeemer had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Carbondale Area Chargers. For the Royals, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 defeat the Chargers walked away with from last season. The pitching of Nick Mazzarella and Zachary Schultz dominated the Chargers. They got help on defense from everyone, but particularly a spectacular catch in left field by Drew Cisney. Jack Hurst led the offense with 2 hits and DJ McDermott was able to score twice, thanks to a 1 for 3 effort. This was a great start to season for the Royals, who will travel to Tunkhannock on March 27th to take on the Tigers.
