Stratford Comes Up Short
Stratford’s trip to New Fairfield ended with a 7-0 loss to the home team. Stratford experienced troubles early yielding walks, throwing balls wide or into the outfield, & not making plays in situational aspects of the game. As result, New Fairfield went up 3-0 after 1 inning and 6-0 after 2. Stratford had some hits (5 total), hit some other balls hard for outs, but couldn’t piece together any string of hits or put together a balanced attack. Stratford had a chance to get back in the game in the 6th when Xavier Lendof & Ethan Hill started the inning with bullet line drive hits. But nothing followed & Stratford remained scoreless. Elijah Hill relief’s performance only give up 1 run in 4 innings of work was one bright spot. Lendof (2 hits), Hill (1 hit), Evan Wendland (1 hit) & Brayan Gonzalez (1 hit) were other bright spots. Stratford hosts Newtown on Wednesday at 4:15 at Penders Field.
