Waverly delivered a dominant 62-38 road victory over Oak Hill, improving their impressive record to 5-1 on the season. The team showcased balanced scoring and exceptional teamwork throughout all four quarters, never allowing their opponents to mount a serious challenge after jumping out to an early lead. The game was effectively decided in the opening quarter as Waverly exploded out of the gates with a commanding 7-0 run. Kage Alexander ignited the scoring spree with a free throw, followed by baskets from Kai Keesee and Alexander again. Alexander continued his hot start, capping off the first quarter as the leading scorer with 9 points, including a spectacular three-pointer that extended the lead to 15-4. By halftime, Waverly had stretched their advantage to a comfortable 34-14 margin. Alexander led all scorers with an outstanding 15-point performance, shooting an efficient 5-7 from the field (71%) and connecting on his only three-point attempt. Gunnar Myers provided excellent support with 11 points on 5-10 shooting, while the Myers brothers combined for 19 points as Sawyer added 8 points on a solid 4-8 field goal performance.
