Leavenworth, KS — The Lady Chieftains varsity soccer team took home a 1-0 win against Leavenworth on March 31st. 16 minutes into the game, Natalie Loving dribbled through several defenders before getting fouled for a penalty kick. Loving took the kick and scored. Loving lead the charge with four shots. Marissa Dick had three shots and Lily Sanders, Legan Caraway, and Molly Vought each had a shot in the first half. Lauren Breuer recorded two saves. The second half went scoreless with Loving and Dick each having two shots. Breuer and the backline proved themselves again by recording their second shut-out of the season. The Chieftains play Lansing High School at home on Thursday, April 2nd at 6 p.m. The Lady Chieftains JV soccer team lost a hard-fought battle 2-1 against Leavenworth High School. Gabriela Garza secured a goal about halfway through the first half to give the Chieftains the lead. With less than five minutes to play, Leavenworth grabbed a goal back. Reese Eckstein, Aubrie Malan, and Garza led the first half with one shot each. Chaynee Howell recorded nine saves in the first half. Going into the second half with a score of 1-1, the Chieftains battled it out but fell short. Leavenworth scored a goal with about 20 minutes left in the half. Howell had six saves in the second half. The Chieftains look to bounce back on Thursday, April 2nd at 4:30 p.m. against Lansing High School.
