Performance

The freshman made an immediate impact, taking a quick pass from Hurst 60 yards for the Breakers’ opening touchdown. He came up big again in the fourth quarter with a critical catch on 4th & 4 to keep the go-ahead scoring drive alive.

CO-MVP

Battled through a hand injury suffered late in the first half and returned to lead the Breakers in the second. Hurst threw three touchdown passes, including two to Brady Stringham in the fourth quarter to turn a 7–7 tie into a 21–7 victory.

Made his presence felt on both defense and special teams. Smith stepped in front of a San Pedro pass for a huge fourth-quarter interception, stopping a potential game-tying drive, while also delivering excellent punting throughout the night.

Breakers Take Down The Pirates, 21-7

San Pedro, CA — The Laguna Beach Breakers, coming off of a bye week, took their 1-3 record on the road to battle the undefeated San Pedro Pirates. The Pirates had scored 63 and then 49 points in their two previous games, and Laguna Beach was nursing a number of injuries most significantly to Garrett Byerly, whose ACL tear has put him out for the rest of the season.
