Chicago, IL — Taft freshmen started the game with a bang!! Jerimiah took the opening kickoff for a score after making one great move in the middle of the field he out raced all the pursuers from Curie!!! A great defensive stand aided by a bad snap on the punt resulting in a safety!!! So second kickoff to Taft and Jerimiah did it again! He worked way harder for this one, throwing off tacklers and spinning open to score a second touch down. Defensively the team played well, getting a second safety and a few punts which set up our 4 offensive plays! On the first one a bad snap is picked up by Max on the scramble, he drops his shoulder to knock over a tackler and then sprints into the end zone! The other true offensive play, not a two point attempt came when King took the handoff on our inside run. Majid made a great block taking out two players at the second level to set him free on his cut back inside. Taft kicked off the second half with a running clock. Getting the rest of the team on the field became the priority. The defense did great but some favorable spots kept their drive alive over and over. They eventually were able to score running behind their big QB. And that was the game. No offensive snaps in the second half. A shout out to Adrien for getting the first extra point kicks at the Freshmen level in the last 6 years. The Boys are now preparing for Lane next Wed!
