Redlands, CA — Two interceptions returned for touchdowns and a safety ruin an otherwise good night for the Wildcats. Santa Margarita went up 7-0 in the first quarter on a touchdown pass and were able to keep the Wildcats scoreless in the period. The only scoring in the second came on a snap from center that flew over quarterback Jeremiah Donahue’s hands resulting in a 2pt safety. Things were optimistic going into the half being down 9-0 to Trinity League foe Rancho Santa Margarita. The Wildcats defense gave up another touchdown in the third quarter add a costly interception returned for a touchdown and the Eagles were up 23-0. The Wildcats were able to strike pay dirt when Donahue found receiver Branson Wells for an electric touchdown reception. The 3rd quarter ended with the Eagles leading 23-7. Unfortunately in the 4th the eagles scored once off another interception returned for a touchdown and kicked a field goal while the Wildcats could only muster one score with another electrifying combination from Donahue to Wells. Final score ended 33-14.
