Rocklin, CA — C.K. McClatchy roared back from a 9-point deficit to defeat Rocklin 39-37 on Saturday in the semi-finals of the Rocklin Thunder Basketball Tournament. Kelley Anderson scored 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to notch her first double-double of the season. McClatchy fell behind early, trailing 20-16 by the half, only to come back strong in the final two quarters with strong defense, holding Rocklin scoreless in the final 6 minutes, and hot shooting by Anderson and Kennis Jasperson. Anderson was on the ball for McClatchy, making 41% (7-for-17) of shots attempted and hitting 75% (6-for-8) of free throws attempted. Anderson also had 2 steals and blocked 4 shots. Jasperson shot 80% from the floor (4-for-5) and contributed 8 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds, and 1 block. Also contributing for the Lions were Myla Macias (6 points, 1 steal), Olivia Balzarano (2 points, 1 rebound), Ameerah Abdul Rahman (2 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals), Makenna Schaefer (1 point, 6 rebounds, 5 steals), Alyssa Yuke (3 assists, 1 steal), and Noglia Horton Broadnax (2 rebounds).
