Michaela Melcher showed a strong eye at the plate on Saturday, as Melcher walked three times while leading Beckman Junior Varsity Patriots to a 16-6 victory over Woodbridge Junior Varsity.
Beckman Junior Varsity Patriots got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Sophia Morales singled, scoring two runs, Gisele Reyes singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Clara Chang singled, scoring one run. Beckman Junior Varsity Patriots scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Morales doubled, scoring one run, Michaela Melcher singled, scoring two runs, Camila Mier doubled, scoring one run, and Neissy Camarena singled, scoring one run.
Beckman Junior Varsity Patriots got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Gisele Reyes lined out, scoring one run, Camila Mier drew a walk, scoring one run, Clara Chang drew a walk, scoring one run, and Samantha Champion singled, scoring two runs.
It came down to the wire on Monday, as Beckman Varsity Patriots grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 8-7, over Northwood Varsity Timberwolves. The game was tied at seven in the bottom of the seventh when Kiyomi Okamoto singled, scoring one run.
