Senior night and a Bay League championship game was on the menu Friday night, and the Olympians did not disappoint! A stingy defense and great moments on offense equaled success.
Tonga scored four touchdowns — three rushing, one passing — to lead Leuzinger to a 40-14 victory over the Sea Kings in a Bay League game at SoFi Stadium.
The Olympians had a 17-point lead, but midway through the third quarter, it was cut to just three. Russell Sekona then engineered a final drive that helped put the game away for Leuzinger’s first win over Inglewood since 1999.
A stingy Leuzinger defense and strong rushing attack will be on the scouting report for any opponent this season. Regardless, both were too much for Long Beach Poly to handle in a Week 0 nonleague season opener for both teams.
