A long trip to Carlsbad resulted in 5 top ten finishes and five medals as well as a second place finish for the frosh team. Medal winners were Matthew Galindo, Alex Hernandez, Freddie Sanchez, Alex Sanchez and Christianpher Martinez. Good job Rebels.
It was a proud night for the coaches, all runners put forth great efforts with several coming away with medeals, and top 10 finishes. Jacob Melendez had a third place finish in the senior race, Olbi Hikirat had a fourth place finish in the sophomore race, and other medal winners, included, Juan Hernandez, Valeria Martinez, Lindsey Marroquin, Christian Martinez, Sergio Soto, Freddy Sanchez, Alan Sanchez and Issacc Renteria. Good job rebels.
Matthew Galindo returned to the sweepstakes race to represent Savanna High School for the second year in a row. And last year‘s event, he said his new school record for best 3 mile time ever. Entering the race, he was determined to do even better. It was a stacked race with top runners from all over the state and, many top teams from other western states. Matthew ran a tremendous race and knocked off 19 seconds from his school record with a blistering 14:33 race to finish in the top 50 overall.

It was a hot day in Laguna. All of the runners had good races in a tough event. Matthew Galindo and Jacob Melendez were top 10 finishers in the division 3 seniors. Olbi had an 11th place finish in the sophomore race and Valeria Martinez rounded out the shirt winners with a 20th place finish in girls seniors.
