EMILY ACOSTA got busy on the basepaths on Friday, knocking four hits in Southlands Christian Eagle's 23-1 victory over Century. ACOSTA doubled in the first, singled in the second, singled in the second, and doubled in the fourth.

Coach Marvel said after the game, "Our first goal is to win league but we understand that we have much work to do still. We approach it one game at a time and focus on being in the moment. One of the greatest pieces of advice I received was during a Sport's Psych class in college with world-known Professor, Ken Ravizza. He said, 'Be where you need to be when you need to be there.' In other words, enjoy each moment. Focus on where you are at and what you should be doing at that moment. I try so hard to teach the mental side of the game to our girls so that the game itself is not so hard."

The Southlands Lady Eagles Varsity Softball team improved to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in league play after defeating league opponent Orangewood Academy 12-5 on Thursday. The Eagles trailed early, giving up three runs in the first inning. They clawed their way back and found themselves trailing in the sixh inning 5-4 when Senior Tori Marvel singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs. Southlands added six runs in the seventh inning to come away with the victory, 12-5.

The Lady Eagles of Southlands Christian improved to a 2 and 0 start on their season Wednesday. A big fourth inning sparked an eight-run fury that led the Eagles on their way to an 11-2 victory over Capistrano Valley Christian on Wednesday. Several Southlands Christian hitters contributed to that big offensive fourth inning, which included SELAH DOMINGUEZ, ALISSA ALCARAZ, ALLYSON YOUNG, TORI MARVEL and a bases-clearing home run down the left-field line for FRANKIE KOCH.
