Easton Red Rover nation had been talking since the last time Freedom played Easton. They said their pitcher had an off night and their bats went cold in the earlier matchup, just last week, where Freedom got the win. But they were eager to get another chance to prove they were better.
In a league game against a tuff opponent, you know going in to the game that you will have to have a gritty outting from your pitching, solid defense behind mid him, and execute situational hitting.
Freedom Baseball has taken advantage of a stretch of mid-season games that on paper they should win, but this is the game of baseball. Also, on this five game winning streak, two of those wins have been conference games and those are never easy games. They are doing all the small things well and focusing on fundamental baseball.
Ryan Kullman would be first to tell you this season did not get off to the start he had hoped. To his credit he has taken his lumps and fought back with a few strong defensive outings and on Thursday, his bat came alive. Kullman went 4-4 with 3 doubles.
