Return to Fall Sports First Day Recap

Good evening #OneCOFamily,

I want to preface by complimenting each and every walk of life for committing to our reopening of sports. Extensive preparation has taken place behind the scenes for months. Our administration leadership, our sports medicine department, and our fall athletic programs coordinated from the time anyone arrived on the property until the time everyone left, keeping everyone safe and organized. Following are a few friendly reminders before we return for our next practice, and hopefully the beginning of conditioning also.

- There is NO practice tomorrow for any fall sports teams. Instead, we invite you to participate in our No Tricks Just Treats social distancing parade tomorrow on campus from 5:00-8:00 pm.

- Participants must remain inside their vehicles at all times but this activity will be a chance for you to come in contact with Charter Oak staff and safely celebrate the holiday.

- We will resume practice again on Thursday afternoon and reiterate that it is critical your son or daughter does not arrive early or late but at the designated time they were assigned by their head coach in their cohort. This measure has been implemented to avoid any loitering or crossover and interactions between pods and is to limit the exposure and keep everyone as protected as possible. Your son or daughter is to remain on campus unless they are walking home or until a parent or guardian arrives to get them.

- Please make certain before you arrive on campus, if Thursday is your first day of practice, you have completed the yearly and daily paperwork to begin participating immediately. Each student-athlete needs to be registered on athleticclearance.com and to have completed a new calendar school year pre-participation physical exam. Also, all student-athletes must have a one-time Return to Practice Agreement completed by a parent or guardian. A Daily Enter Ticket also must be completed by each student-athlete before they arrive to practice every day.
Return to Practice Agreement can be found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfy2-3Wo-qp9or8zCLiFyQqoDMD3UAJYUD35pgbhJoI16n5aA/viewform
Daily Enter Ticket can be found here:

- All student-athletes are expected to wear a facemask to practice which must latch around the ears. No gaiters are allowed. Please bring your own water bottle. We will be able to refill water bottles on campus.

Thank you in advance #OneCOFamily for adhering to these expectations. Socially, emotionally, mentally, and physically today was a win for our community and resembled some normalcy and reflected some peace and happiness in our children. Please we encourage every family to continue to be vigilant and to follow the guidelines of our local, county, state, and federal agencies meant to safeguard our communities, state, and country. We can each do our part by doing everything humanly possible to “flatten the curve,” and as always, stay safe and healthy!
