The Fairfield Falcons lost at Benicia High in their final game before league-play initiates next week. Nicko Ignacio (19 points) did all he could to lead his team, but it wasn't enough. Amarre Davis added 10 points and Evan Smith chipped in with 8 points. The Falcons open MEL-play on Tuesday (1/9) and Vacaville High School.
The Falcons only scored 4 first-quarter points and couldn't get going at Deer Valley. Johnnie Jones (15 points), Amarre Davis (14 points) and Nicko Ignacio (10 points) led the team in the loss.
The Falcons secured the Fairfield Holiday Classic with a 64-63 overtime win against Benicia High School. Johnnie Jones scored 15 points and made the winning free throw with 0.6 seconds left in the extra period. Caedom Lain dominated the interior with 14 points, and Nicko Ignacio (12 points) and Amarre Davis (10 points) made plays on the perimeter.
Fairfield owned the final minutes of its game against Central Kitsap (Washington) and earned the right to compete in the Championship game of the Fairfield Holiday Classic. Johnnie Jones came off the bench to lead the Falcons with 11 points. Evan Smith dominated early, also contributing 11 points. Nicko Ignacio (10 points), Caedom Lain (9 points) and Khamanni Martin (8 points) helped pace the Falcons.
