We are excited to Announce our Interim Head Coach / Assistant Coach, John Rinaldi. Rinaldi was a standout high school athlete and wrestler at North Warren Regional where he was a 4-year varsity wrestler and 2-year captain. Rinaldi was also a 2x 1st team All-Conference wrestler, football and baseball player for the NW Patriots. Rinaldi was recruited out of North Warren Regional to play Division 3 Football at Ohio Wesleyan University in the fall of 2011. He was a 3 year starter for the Battling Bishops and winning the NCAC Conference championship in 2012. Rinaldi was also a two-year starter on the Ohio Wesleyan Varsity Rugby team.   While at Ohio Wesleyan, Rinaldi also pioneered the creation of the University wrestling team, co-founding the Battling Bishops Wrestling club in 2014.  Two years later, the club evolved into the Ohio Wesleyan University Wrestling team and entered into the NCAA to compete at the Division 3 level, in the Ohio Athletic Conference. While out in Ohio, Coach Rinaldi joined Delaware Hayes High School Varsity Wrestling team as an assistant coach for the Pacers from 2014-2016. While with the Pacers they went on to win two back-to-back titles in both of the years he was on staff.    Following Rinaldi’s years in the Midwest, he moved back East and took on role as ths alum North Warren Regional Wrestling Team Upon earth a position in the History Department as a Teacher- most recently, he spent (2020-2022) as the Head Assistant Wrestling Coach at Bayonne High School. Additionally, 1-year (2023-2024) as Interim Head Coach, accumulating _____ wins and recording their best season school history in his season at the helm. Rinaldi is thrilled at the opportunity to build Union College into a New Jersey Ju-Co wrestling powerhouse as well as a institution where student-athletes can use Union College as a direct launch pad for their future Division 1 endeavors.
